App technical terms you meet when installing and logging in

App technical terms such as APK, PWA and OTP turn up every time you install, update or log in to an app. Knowing them helps you spot fake files and scam messages. The SlotKaki Android app is downloaded only from the app button on slotkaki.shop; it is not on Google Play, and there is no iOS app.

APK (Android Package).apk file; Android package
The file format Android uses to distribute and install apps. An APK holds the code, images, settings and the developer's signature. Apps that are not on Google Play are installed straight from an APK file, a process known as sideloading. Because the file can travel through any channel, its source matters a great deal: an APK shared in a chat, a messaging group or an ad link may have been tampered with.
Example: The official file comes from the app button on slotkaki.shop, so an APK sent by an 'agent' in a chat should be deleted unopened.
Install unknown appsUnknown sources; sideload permission
The Android setting that lets one specific app, such as a browser or file manager, install APKs from outside Google Play. On recent Android versions this permission is granted app by app, usually under Settings > Apps > Special app access, although menu names differ between brands. Grant it only to the app you use to download the official APK, then switch it off again once the install is done.
Example: While installing the APK, Android asks you to allow Chrome; you allow it, install the app, then set Chrome back to not allowed.
APK signatureApp signing; developer certificate
A digital signature the developer creates with a private key and attaches to every APK. Android checks it during installation and accepts an update only if it is signed with the same key as the app already on the phone. A file altered by a third party cannot carry the original signature. The certificate fingerprint, usually given as SHA-256, can be checked with tools such as apksigner.
Example: If the phone shows an error such as 'App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package' during an update, the file may be signed with a different key; delete it and download again from the app button on slotkaki.shop.
App permissionsPermissions; device access
Access to phone functions that you must approve before an app can use them, such as the camera, storage, location, SMS or contacts. The official SlotKaki app does not need SMS, contacts, call log, accessibility or device-admin permissions. A request for any of these is a red flag, because they can be used to read OTP codes, control the screen or block the app from being uninstalled. Review each app's permissions under Settings > Apps.
Example: A freshly installed app asks for accessibility access to 'activate your bonus'; refuse, uninstall it and download again from the official source.
PWA (Progressive Web App)Web app; home screen shortcut
A website that can be installed on the home screen and opened like an app while still running inside the browser engine. A PWA needs no APK file or app store, updates itself whenever the site is updated, and only gets the device access the browser allows. Since there is no iOS app, iPhone users add the site to the Home Screen through Safari to get a similar icon.
Example: On an iPhone you open slotkaki.shop in Safari, tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen, and a new icon appears on the home screen.
OTP (One-Time Password)One-time code; TAC; verification code
A short code, usually six digits, that works once and only for a short time, sent by SMS or email or generated by an authenticator app. An OTP proves you hold the registered phone or email, so whoever gets the code can act in your name. Malaysian banks often call it a TAC. SlotKaki support staff will never ask for your OTP or your password.
Example: Someone claiming to be support asks you to read out the six-digit code that just arrived by SMS; end the conversation, keep the code to yourself and call your bank if it relates to a transaction.
CacheTemporary data; browser cache
Temporary copies of files such as images, scripts and style sheets that a browser or app keeps so pages load faster on the next visit. An outdated cache can make a page look broken, stop buttons from working or keep showing an old version after an update. Clearing the cache removes only these temporary files; it does not delete your account, balance or bet history, which are stored on the server.
Example: The lobby still shows the old layout after an update, so you clear the app's cache under Settings > Apps > Storage and open it again.
Clear storageClear app data; reset app
A deeper step than clearing the cache: it wipes all of the app's local data, including the login session, settings and downloaded files, so the app returns to its just-installed state. You will need to log in again afterwards. Because your account and balance live on the server, this step, like uninstalling and reinstalling, leaves your balance untouched. Make sure you remember your password before doing it.
Example: After clearing storage the app asks you to log in again, and the balance it shows is the same as before.

Many scams start with a fake APK or a request for an OTP, so also read the entry on phishing and fake sites in the safe-play glossary. If you are still choosing between the Android app and a web shortcut, PWA vs APK: Which App Option Suits Your Phone compares the two by phone type. Questions about logging in or verification codes can go to live chat inside your account or to Telegram @Slotkakiofficial. Staff never ask for your password or OTP code.
